written and developed over the course of the last year or so; using performances and art exhibits to test ideas... many different versions have come and gone... it came became time to record. i demo'd several versions to myself, recorded on my phone or 4-track tape recorder, and various other things, but nothing was really solidifying. ...

...i knew i wanted to record this one in one take, completely live in the basement or maybe at a small venue, so i didnt really need multiple versions, but since i was so undecided about some of the arrangements i decided to try to multi-track it

i ultimately decided to record in a studio and settled on right heel in colorado springs because of the large open studio space, adams love for noisy music and experimenting, the fact that he and alex are in a couple of bands together and alexs's stuff is already at the studio

i had been wanting to make a record with nutso drums and guitar for a long time, especially after spending several months not really making progress, i wanted to be done with this thing
my first choice and good friend alex koshak agreed to do it
day of recording, i made a ten minute demo in the studio and we spent several minutes discussing the dynamics i wanted to go for with adam and alex, while alex took notes on a markerboard
we then retreated to the studio and performed this whole thing

so, it was about this time i realized we had run thru the entire composition i had written. leaving my pedals on and feeding-back, i walked into the control room to tell adam that we might be done but to keep recording cos i wanted to see how kosh was doing - still in the studio making noise. I went back into to the studio and he had some more in him, so we improvised a mostly chill ending
